You must guide our protagonist. You decide his truth. He must have faith to believe he can comprehend what the veritable truth is. He has begun to keep a journal to record the experience however life has proven to be difficult as the lines between reality and fiction are beginning to blur together faster and faster. You must choose whether he is caught in a kind of conspiracy to shatter his perception of what is real or if they're really only measly tricks of the mind.

Optimistic:
You have chosen the optimistic ending: The metafictional crisis and hallucinations were only brought on by a really strong fever. Our protagonist is being treated in a hospital writing out his deluded anxieties of being caught in some kind of conspiracy. However this troubling time will soon pass and his life should eventually return to normal.
Cynical:
You have chosen the cynical ending. The government is hiding a large operation funded by a wealthy millionaire to shoot a new type of 'reality' movie using a pantheon of hidden cameras and microphones. Our protagonist has been chosen first subject of these experimental films and has caught on to the fact tht something isn't quite as it seems. Time will tell what happens next.
